Today’s episode is one you won’t forget. I’m sitting down with the incredible Julie Barth—a mother of six, trauma survivor, and the founder of the Colin James Barth Outreach. Julie has walked through more than most: parenting a child with Primordial Dwarfism, losing her young husband Colin to stage-four pancreatic cancer, caring for a child with a rare form of cancer, and surviving ten years in an emotionally and financially abusive marriage. But what stands out most about Julie isn’t just what she’s been through—it’s what she’s built from it.
Through her nonprofit, CJB Outreach, Julie is helping women-led households find stability during some of the hardest moments of their lives. This conversation dives into caregiving, loss, resilience, and what it really means to reclaim your life after trauma. Julie’s story is deeply personal, but the lessons she shares are universal—and I’m so honored to share this space with her today.
Inside this episode:
- The moment Julie knew her life was going to look very different—and how she found strength in that
- How becoming a caregiver shaped her identity as a mom and woman
- The quiet ways abuse can take root—and how she began to reclaim her voice
- What kept Julie moving forward when everything felt like too much
- How a nonprofit idea turned into a mission to support women-led households
- The practical ways Julie is helping women feel safe, seen, and supported through CJB Outreach
Julie’s story is a testament to the power of persistence, purpose, and protecting your peace. If you’ve ever felt like you were just trying to hold everything together, this episode will remind you that you're not alone—and that you can build something beautiful from even the most broken moments.
